What to Bring

    1. Requested to take Reservation one year in advance?

One year in advance is too long a period, which will result in too many cancellations. Such cancellations disturb booking itinerary of the Institute. Hence, the present practice of three months advance is considered sufficient.

    2. At least for repeat patients, who have maintained their health, you may reduce the stay to 10 days, as getting 20 days leave or staying away from business is difficult?

Although better treatment can be induced in a longer span of 20/21 days, considering the difficulties experienced by patients, and on their repeated requests we are now allowing admission for shorter duration of 10 days also.

    3. Why are children below 20 years not admitted ?

Children of such age cannot follow rules and regulations of Naturopathy. It is not possible for them to appreciate the value of diet and treatment and a child will not co-operate, and Nature Cure becomes futile. Hence, we are not taking children below 20 years.

    4. Requested that extension be granted to patients?

Extension is granted to patients on the advice of the doctor and on the co-operative behaviour of patient. However, extension is given only if vacancy exists and on the merits of the cases.

    5. Why are foreigners offered only Huts and Nests?

We would like to give preference to Indians who can afford only general accommodation charges. Compared to even standard hotels, our charges are very less and highly subsidized. If converted to foreign currency, charges will appear nominal.

    6. Sometimes patients who have not completed their duration of treatments are asked to leave abruptly. Why?

The Institute maintains high quality of service as well as discipline, which are essential for Naturopathy. It is a sad state that some people behave arrogantly and are undisciplined, which hurts the image of the Institute. Hence, we have no option but to terminate such patients on disciplinary grounds in the larger interest of Naturopathy, INYS and all other patients.

    7. Why is fasting specified for all and many treatments are not given during fasting?

In Naturopathy, fasting is a major tool by which, food intake is reduced or controlled in order to eliminate the toxins in the body. We know that this stage is very tiresome but is very essential as it is the only way of removing the toxins in the body accumulated over the years. Fasting is an age old remedial therapy, which has many benefits and you should not be afraid of fasting. In fact, fasting should be a habit of living and be practiced once a week or so. During fasting, we would like to avoid strenuous treatments like massage etc. As such, strenuous treatments will have adverse effect, and hence light treatments are given. However, fasting is not prescribed in some cases like diabetes, hypertension, acidity, ulcer etc. for medical reasons.

    8. It is felt that there is lot of overlapping between treatment and yoga resulting in unnecessary hurry and sometimes strain due to overdosage of treatment?

This aspect has been thoroughly studied by the doctors and a new schedule has been drawn so that treatment and yoga are conducted in different sessions to avoid any overlapping. Adequate care has been taken to provide sufficient gap between treatment, Yoga and Diet, as per the requirement. We have separate treatment schedule for different accommodations also. We feel the new system has sufficient time for rest and relaxation.

    9. Why do you treat only few diseases?

Like many other hospitals, this Institute also would like to specialize in certain areas and in certain specific diseases, where, past experiences have very clearly shown encouraging results regarding efficacy of Nature Cure. We naturally limit ourselves to those areas only. However, it covers majority of the health problems affecting patients today.

    10. Why are patients above 75 not treated ?

We have found that when the age exceeds 75, they do not respond to nature cure treatment because of old eating and irregular habits and also due to body condition. Hence, we discourage people above 75, except lovers of naturopathy, who are also extraordinarily fit.

    11. How can Naturopathy cure diseases without medicines ?

Human body is one of the greatest examples of God's ingenuity. The body has the capacity to fight any type of disease on its own. Unfortunately, we do not give a chance to the body to fight disease and the moment the disease erupts, we start medicating with the result, instead of assisting the body to fight disease, medicines start going in a negative direction with many side effects. In this Institute we teach patients to treat diseases without medicines. Since it is a huge subject, you are advised to study literature on Naturopathy which is available in abundance.

    12. Why do you give early dinners that cause us to feel hungry before going to bed ?

The aim of giving early dinner is to maintain a gap of 3 hours between digestion of food and sleep. In fact, before going to bed food should be digested completely. If not, the circulation will be shared by the digestive system as well as the brain and hence if one retires to bed soon after eating, neither the digestion is proper nor the sleep.

    13. General patients should be properly guided when they join the Institute?

An inductive film describing various activities in the Institute is shown to the new patients. This is screened on video every day at 1 p.m. in Jaimal Hall. Furthermore, the Information Brochure sent along with the admission form gives complete information about the Institute. Also we have introduced a welcome folder which details all necessary information for a new patient.

    14. Why is the issue of gate pass so strict ?

This Institute is a hospital and like any other hospital, it is expected that patients will not go out and therefore issue of gate pass to patients during treatment is strictly prohibited.

    15. Why visitors and patients are subjected to Security check at the gate and accommodation ?

If you see the lockers in our Security Dept. you will be surprised as to how many things have been confiscated, which indirectly supports our conviction that many times patients or their relatives try to smuggle in prohibited eatables which are harmful to patients, whether it is Zarda, Pan, Alcohol, Smoking materials or biscuits or any such things. Here again, we emphasize that in the interest of Naturopathy and in the interest of patients themselves, we have to take such extreme steps of checking. In fact, the patients and their relatives should co-operate with us, as it is in their own interest.

16.Why tea, coffee, smoking, zarda, alcohol are advised to be given up abruptly instead of tapering ?

Tea, Coffee, Smoking, Zarda, Alcohol are not the basic needs of the body such as food and sleep. They are acquired habits. Some of these create acidity in the stomach. These can be avoided easily. Sooner you give it up, the better.

    17. Why is non-vegetarian food not recommended ?

We believe, by nature man is herbivorous. Man does not have sharp canine teeth, like those animals who are carnivorous. Flesh which is non-fibrous cannot be digested by human body very easily. Hence, non-veg food can lead to irritation of bowels, indigestion, gas formation, heart diseases, etc. and is not recommended in Naturopathy.

    18. Are you supplying safe water ?

Yes, the water supplied for drinking is treated as per the standard of Public Health Dept. The samples are tested in laboratories or regular intervals in order to maintain the quality of water.

    19. Are you getting any profit out of this Centre ?

We are not getting any profit and we are not running this Institute for profit. Our Patron is spending on this Institute only for the love of Naturopathy and Humanity.
